Friendship at home is a service for older people who are resident in the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area. We offer a home visiting service as well as introducing people to each other through our Friendship Club and Lunch Club. We also encourage the more able-bodied to join in with our exercise groups.
Making a difference
Social isolation can lead to depression, anxiety, loneliness, and loss of confidence.
As people grow older there may come a time when for many social isolation becomes a real problem and there are a variety of reasons why.
- Few or no relatives living nearby
- No close neighbours
- New to the area
- Poor health or poor mobility which confines them to their home
- Hospital discharge, or admission.
- (And there are many more)
Becoming a volunteer
Anyone can become a Friendship at Home volunteer and help out with our various activities or become a valued member of our befriending team.
Although the majority are received from Social Services and Health Centres, family, friends, neighbours or the client themselves can refer also.Read more about volunteering →
