A word from Julie Rigby

After a great deal of thought, I have decided to retire at the end of December 2022. Friendship at Home has been a huge part of my life for the last 16 years and I am so proud of what we have achieved and what the staff and volunteers do on a daily basis. To think we started with no members, no volunteers, no social groups etc and we are now looking after over 800 older people and 100 volunteers. WOW, that is some achievement. Lyse has been with me throughout my journey with Friendship at Home and I know she will continue to be the most amazing Manager and I couldn’t think of anyone else to pass the baton too, thanks Lyse. It has been a pleasure to work with all our wonderful volunteers and staff you never cease to amaze me on the way you carry out your work, take up a new challenge and care for our older people. They say teamwork makes the dream work and you have certainly made my dreams for Friendship at Home come true, so thank you so much. To our fantastic members, thank you all for being you. You have been so supportive of Friendship at Home attending our social/exercise groups, day trips, parties, using our befriending services etc. I could certainly write a book on some of the adventures we have had and the memories we have made will last a lifetime. They say as one door closes another opens, so on my new journey I am going to spend more time with my grandchildren and enjoy them whilst they still want to spend time with Granny J!!! I am sure that I will still see quite a lot of you around Grimsby/Cleethorpes and it goes without saying that I will be helping at the parties after all this time I couldn’t possible not go. So, thank you so much for making the last 16 years a pleasure to go to work and allowing me to be part of your lives, I will miss you all. Julie Rigby Development Manager
